How may handbags do you own? As we look around the LAC team, the average is 6 handbags each. That's fairly modest compared to the 11 that each American woman owns on average (according to NDP Group market research). Maybe it's because we tend to recycle our bags, and also because we've naturally become pretty hooked on the idea of a convertible handbag.

With such rapidly changing trends as well as evolving consumer spending habits, it got us thinking about the true reasons why a convertible handbag can make life so much easier.
1. Versatility
With a convertible handbag you can so easily change different parts of the bag. Being able to do this means that you can very quickly turn one bag into a very different looking bag just by changing the flaps or the straps. Literally one bag can have four different looks.
If you're travelling it's a perfect companion. Have one look while walking around the Louvre and then switch with a different lightweight flap as you head to the nearest jazz bar in St Germain that evening.

"Do you really need another handbag, what about the one I bought you last year"... We've probably all heard that before coming from a significant other. Yeah, first of all they'll never really get it (we don't complain about their strange fascination with watches or cars), but second of all (deep down) they might be right :(. Dropping $x,xxx on another designer handbag will probably impact the kitchen renovation fund.
